Murivenna is a vata-reducing traditional massage oil from the medical repository of God's own country, Kerala. An excellent wound healer, pain reliever and bonesetter, murivenna is traditionally used by the royal warriors for strengthening the bones, muscles, and joints. Prepared in coconut oil base, with the addition of tandulambu (rice water), both of which have cooling properties, Kerala Ayurveda Murivenna rapidly reduces inflammation and is highly useful in injuries involving pain and swelling. The main ingredients in murivenna, such as karanja patra (pongamia pinnata), sigru patra (moringa oleifera), kanya (aloe barbadensis/aloe vera) etc., have been mentioned in Ayurveda as herbs with wound healing and fracture healing properties.
